If you are like me, it can be very easy to fall into a pattern of life that impacts no one.

Get up.
Eat breakfast.
Go to work.
Come home.
Eat dinner.
Watch TV.
Go to bed.

Our more socially aware friends may sprinkle in some fun times with others through the week, but in the end, it is still a routine.

A good routine.
A satisfying routine.
But it is the same routine that almost everyone on the planet will repeat (in one form or another) until they die.

Are you making your life count for something more than a satisfying routine?

Matthew 5:13–16 (ESV)
13 “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

There are some days that I believe I am living a life that counts for more than just the routine of life that ends after several years. Other days, I am just punching the clock.

God made us for more than just getting through this life. He wanted us to be empowered by Him to change it.

What are you doing to make your life count?

How are you pursuing God to fulfill your calling in this life?
[Disclaimer: I know this is an overly simplistic question to a seeming complex process.]

You are empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Gifted by the Holy Spirit.
You are called by God, though the power of Jesus Christ to make this world a better place.

No matter what you do, today, make your life count…some how…some way.

Help someone in need.
Give to ministries that help people around the world.
Live out the gospel in a radical and self-giving way at home, at work, at school, and in your community.
Commit to a life of ministry and missions.
Help a child who has nothing.
Care for a refugee.
Break down the walls of racism.
Help to free the oppressed…
live for those who would do anything to be living a boring routine…
but give them more.

Use your gifts for more than a paycheck. Use them to bring change around you.
Whatever you do…
big or small…
do it for the Kingdom of God.

May every breath that fills our lungs propel us towards God’s purposes in our lives.

I am thankful for you and the journey we are on together.
